Hemiplegia is partial paralysis on one side of the body that can affect the arms, legs and facial muscles. It is a condition caused by brain damage or spinal cord injury that leads to paralysis on one side of the body. It causes weakness, problems with muscle control and muscle stiffness.
There are two types of hemiplegia. Congenital hemiplegia, which is present from birth or happens shortly after birth. Acquired hemiplegia results from brain damage that occurs later in life, either due to illness or injury. Damage to the left hemisphere of the brain usually results in right hemiplegia, and damage to the right hemisphere results in left hemiplegia.
Homeopathy provides supportive treatment and prevents any further deterioration in the condition. Non-progressive hemiplegia, in particular, responds well to homeopathic treatment. Homeopathic medicines can prevent the paralytic muscles from further degeneration. The medicines act at the level of the nervous system and facilitate proper conduction of signal impulses from the nerves to the muscles. Moreover, homeopathy acts without any side effects and is an excellent adjunct to the other available therapies.
