Reactive perforating collagenosis is a rare skin disorder in which abnormal collagen fibres extrude through the outer layer of skin called epidermis. There are 2 types of RPC, acquired RPC (ARPC) and inherited RPC. Acquired reactive perforating collagenosis (ARPC) is commonly recognized as an unusual skin reaction to superficial trauma that is observed in patients with a certain genetic predisposition or underlying diseases, such as diabetes mellitus or renal diseases.
Though, the cause of abnormal collagen extruding through to the epidermis is unknown but lesions appear in response to superficial trauma such as scratching and are aggravated by cold weather. This is particularly the case in the inherited form.
Homeopathy is expected to relive the symptom, intense itching in particular and the skin lesions.
