Trachoma is an infectious disease caused by bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis on the outermost covering of the eye called the conjunctiva. It causes swelling, pain and discharge from the eyes with itching. It spreads through touch, using common clothes, door knobs used by the affected person etc. It is considered the leading preventable cause of blindness worldwide.
Homeopathy can play a major role in treatment of the disease. It can treat acute and recurring stages of the disease, though; chronic trachoma may need surgical intervention. The severe conditions of Trachoma leading to blindness cannot be treated using homeopathy.
